Synopsis

The author undertakes the topic of formation connected with liturgy, which has become important since it was rediscovered the significant importance of liturgy for the life of faith and for Christian spirituality. This matter is promoted by the contemporary Magisterium of the Church as the continuation of the priorities of Liturgical Movement and teaching of the Vatican Council II. Generally we speak about formation for liturgy and formation through liturgy. The following study deals with theological aspects of this formation, which come out from the nature of liturgy and they constitute main criteria of liturgical formation. There were considered some theological aspects, such as follows: the primacy of liturgy in the life of the Church, relational dimension of Christianity, the ecclesial awareness, mistagogy, the sense of sacrum and appreciation of sacramentals and eucharistic adoration. It is important that formation is recognized not only as teaching, but as initiation into the living relation with Christ.
