The sense of the threat posed by artificial intelligence in the educational context

Synopsis

The background of this article is the development of artificial intelligence (AI). The aim of the conducted research was to examine the sense of threat towards AI and how it can be considered in the educational context. The research presented in this article was conducted using a quantitative method. These concerned the model of sense of threat towards AI, respondents’ feelings appearing in relation to the level of sense of threat towards AI, the level of assessment of respondents’ knowledge of AI-based tools, and the level of assessment of their own skills in using AI-based tools. Participants included 310 people. The study used a survey questionnaire. The research results revolve around the conclusion that if an increase in knowledge about artificial intelligence and the ability to work with AI-based tools reduces the sense of threat towards AI and increases the likelihood of positive emotions and perceptions.
