Synopsis

This paper addresses the issue of manipulation in popular music. The topic is developed based on subject literature, including studies, analyses, research articles, and research findings, as well as literature from the fields of philosophy, philosophy of music, aesthetics, musicology, psychology, and the psychology of music. The aim of the study was to present the disturbing phenomenon of manipulation through music, particularly targeting the iGen generation. This phenomenon is presented as the hit–idol–­videoclip manipulation system, based on three core elements: hit, idol, videoclip.
