Synopsis
The author of the essay has aimed at presenting selected aspects of the ecumenical thought of Fr Prof. Łukasz Kamykowski. First, he focused on the very notion and the foundations of ecumenism. Next, he discussed selected topics of the ecumenical dialogue in the light of the writings of the theologian from Kraków. In the third part, the author presented Prof. Kamykowski’s comments on the achievements and the difficulties associated with this dialogue. He stated that in his publications, Prof. Kamykowski offers a very accurate evaluation of the present condition of the ecumenical dialogue with the participation of the Roman Catholic Church. Prof. Kamykowski appreciates the significance of doctrinal ecumenism, and, at the same time, he points to the need of greater appreciation of ecumenical life within the communities being in dialogue. This seems especially important for the reception of the dialogue resolutions.
