Pamiętniki i dzienniki Zmartwychwstańców z II połowy XIX wieku
Über dieses Buch
The Congregation of the Resurrection of Our Lord, founded in Paris in 1836 by Bogdan Janski, from the very beginning had among its ranks people who used the pen to describe the reality that they and the Congregation lived through, to mention only its Founders: Bogdan Janski, Piotr Semenko and Hieronim Kajsiewicz. Their memoirs, diaries and recollections enrich and broaden knowledge, both of the fate of the individuals and of the Congregation and the Church, which the authors of the memoirs served in different fields and dimentions. The first part of the article deals with the presentation of the authors and their works, written throughout the second half of the 19th century. The second part includes excerpts from their works, which sometimes stand at a high literary level and testify to the great erudition of the authors. The appendix provides a list of selected publications of memoir literature held in the General Archives of the Resurrectionists in Rome.
