Synopsis

This paper focuses on a correct reception of admittance to sacraments divorced and remarried Catholics. In the light of the document it was highlighted that the most valid criteria for such admittance are: personal penance, solid Christian formation and personal discernment of a proper matrimonial situation. After having analyzed several comments and opinions, it can be said that hermeneutic of interpretation of Pope Francis’s magisterial teaching about family in general issued in the Amoris lætitia, has not changed. The post‑Synodal exhortation throughout its nine chapters upholds, promotes and passionately seeks to restore lifelong, faithful, stable and indissoluble union. It was also pointed out that some proposals concerning doctrinal difficulties around the VIII chapter of the document (e.i. card. E. Antonelli’s suggestion) has recalled the necessity to experience by remarried spouses the divine pedagogy of gradualness. According to the personal opinion, pope Francis’s intuition is to integrate into the Church community all Catholics living in the objective state of sin but with diminished subjective culpability, helping them to do God’s will in their concrete state with the help of the sacraments. Although, it doesn’t undermine teaching on sin but puts into practice the merciful pedagogy of God.
