Publicly biased. Analysis of TVP Info's coverage before and after 13th December 2023

The text examines the functioning of public media in Poland in the context of their public mission, objectivity, and impartiality. The author analyzes the TVP Info channel before and after 13 December 2023—a symbolic date marking the change of government and the reorganization of Polish Television. The theoretical section revisits the definition and statutory responsibilities of public media as outlined in the Broadcasting Act, emphasizing citizens’ right to reliable and unbiased information. The empirical section presents the results of a content and narrative analysis of TVP Info across two periods: prior to its liquidation (12–24 December 2023) and following its relaunch (from 15 January 2024), as well as during the presidential election campaign in 2025.
