Does the goal justify a competition of evangelistic strategies?

Synopsis

In the post-communist countries, there is a danger of covertly substituting evangelization for another strategy, which can be called confessionalization. And then, instead of unity in Christ, the church’s sermon may turn to the factor of dissociation of society. Such a danger exists in Ukraine. There are structures of the Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate, the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, the Roman Catholic Church, numerous Protestant denominations and other religious communities belonging to the Christian tradition currently in Ukraine. Their evangelistic strategies are influenced by the situation of competition for the flock and for social influence. But it is the emphasis on differences between religious denominations that becomes a factor that can repel or shake the faith of modern man. The theological heritage of Pope John Paul II is valued by a clear hierarchy of values, in which freedom and human dignity have a special place. Following this system of priorities is an important factor in preventing the distortion of the Church’s teaching ministry.
