Synopsis

The development of digital technologies and social media poses new challenges for the protection of the image of minors. The aim of this chapter is to analyse the legal regulations concerning the protection of the image of minors in Polish and canon law and to develop practical recommendations. Using dogmatic-legal and comparative methods, the applicable regulations, case law, and doctrinal positions were examined. The research revealed the complex legal nature of the minor’s image, encompassing aspects of personal rights, personal data protection, and copyright law. It has been established that image protection is a complex normative issue, and that the effective protection of the image of minors requires a combination of legal regulations and organizational practices.
