Wybory zarządu prowincji karmelitów w XVII wieku

According to the Constitutions of the Discalced Carmelites from 1625, the election of provincial authorities followed procedures similar to those used for the election of the general superior. However, the general nature of this regulation required clarification. Therefore, the then General of the Order, Fr. Theodor Stratius, prepared a special instruction, which was sent to the friars participating in the provincial chapter. This chapter discusses the constitutional regulations concerning the election of a provincial superior and includes – in the appendix – an edition of a fragment of Stratius’s instruction.
