Synopsis

In times of escalating evil that threatens the existence of humanity and the world in every sphere, God, in the 20th century, through St Faustina Kowalska of the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy, entrusted the Church with the charism of proclaiming the biblical truth about God’s merciful love for mankind through the witness of life, deeds, words, and prayer. From this charism emerged a new school of spirituality entirely based on the mystery of Divine mercy, characterized by the recognition and contemplation of this truth of faith in daily life, an attitude of trust in God expressed through the fulfillment of His will, and a posture of mercy toward others. Associated with it is the devotion to Divine mercy in new forms given by Jesus. St Faustina’s charism also gave rise to a “new congregation”, the Apostolic Movement of Divine Mercy, composed of both old and new congregations, contemplative and active communities, secular institutes, associations, confraternities, and individual persons who participate in her mission of proclaiming God’s merciful love in the world.
