Synopsis

This work is devoted to the concept of good as understood by Władysław Tatarkiewicz, whose philosophy of values forms the foundation for axiological analysis. The author emphasizes the significance of values in human experience, highlighting that the perception of reality is deeply connected with its value-laden aspects, such as good and evil. The first chapter of the work examines the views of selected philosophers from whom Tatarkiewicz drew inspiration, including both ancient and contemporary thinkers. The second chapter focuses on intuition as a means of recognizing values, while the third discusses the properties of good in the context of Tatarkiewicz’s maximalist interpretation. The work concludes with a summary that synthesizes key insights regarding the understanding of good and its place in axiology. Through critical analysis and the history of philosophical thought, the author offers new perspectives on the topic of values in philosophy.
