The (Non)Classicality of Classical Ethics: Metatheoretical Remarks
Synopsis
The chapter attempts to capture the distinctive aspects of Władysław Zuziak’s thought. The author argues that Zuziak is a classical philosopher, but not in the sense typically associated with Thomism. By analyzing the category of classicism, the author illustrates what constitutes the classicity of Zuziak’s thought and the “Christian” aspect of the ethics he practices. Ultimately, the author describes the ethics developed by Zuziak as “non-classical Christian classical ethics.”
