Apologia of Christianity against the theory of evolution – a proposal by D. Edwards
Synopsis
The intensive development of science – and especially the popularisation of the theory of evolution – has led to the formation of a new vision of the origin and expansion of the universe. This dynamic view of the world calls for a renewal in our way of understanding and describing the nature and action of the Creator-God, in a manner consistent with the current state of knowledge. The Australian theologian, Denis Edwards, puts forward an interesting proposal in the context of dialogue between faith and reason. In his view, the relational nature of the Trinity and of the whole creation as well as a noninterventionist understanding of the action of God, might become a space for dialogue between the perspective of the science and of the Christian faith.
