Modlitwa do Matki Pięknej Miłości Michała Malca

The aim of my paper is to present Michał Malec’s Prayer to Our Lady of Love as one of the contemporary musical works related to the person and output of John Paul II. Michał Malec represents the environment of Warsaw composers of the young generation. The analyzed piece reveals connections to the motet style, which was created during the Renaissance period and introduced in the music of the 20th and 21st centuries in the modern variety. The analysis of the piece is performed in the context of a contemporary motet style and inspired by visual space and its reflection in musical structure.
