Synopsis

The article deals with the issues of Polish-Ukrainian relations. The author relies on the historical aspects of difficult neighborly relations, as well as religious, social, political and cultural ones. Particular emphasis has been placed on the shift in relations between Poles and Ukrainians following Russia’s attack on Ukraine on February 24, 2022. From the very beginning of the war, the hostile stereotype of the Pole and the Ukrainian was transformed. The fate of refugees, help of various kinds, new projects brought both peoples together, emphasizing their Christian roots, about which John Paul II spoke and prayed so much.
